Works from 'Current' were painted via a plein air process. Plein air is the process of painting outside.

In these conditions the artist is further influenced by the surroundings. The lighting, subject matter and the scene more immediate. Even the people walking past can add to the energy of the landscape.

In this way the paint in 'Current' flowed in somewhat haste, to capture the ever-changing-environment, and the artists reflection of it all.

The paint application is gestural and sporadic. The subject matter open, with locations such as the public gardens, harbour landscapes and Olveston. (An iconic grand city building).
